WELCOME TO SonarEVENTS! 

SonarEVENTS is the new collaboration between SonarTV, Live Events Society (LES) and SonarCinema where you pay one price for access to all three societies! 

About us and what we do:  

SonarTV is a student-run television station specialising in all things sport and outside broadcast. Over the last year, we have run our own Live Lounge event, filmed countless D1 basketball games, varsity, Kart fest 2022 and a Chinese New year event. We are affiliated with the National Student Television Association and came second for live broadcast at their awards in 2022! 

Live Events Society (or LES) offers live events services to clients in and out of Southampton and work experience on jobs for its members. In the past year we have worked on a variety of events, such as CarFest supplying sound, Anthems supplying lighting, and various theatre shows for the Performing Arts faculty. 

Sonar Cinema is Solent University’s very own student-run Dolby Atmos cinema. The cinema (LT1) is a 96-seater auditorium, fitted with a big screen, 2k Barco projector and Dolby Atmos immersive sound system. This year we will be running our own film screenings as well as helping the SU run their own movie marathons. 

How to join: To join simply log in to the SU website, add your membership to the basket (Students: £12 for the whole year, £6 for either semester 1 or semester 2) and then pay! Once you’ve paid, we will add you to our area on Teams where you can chat, sign up for jobs and keep track of training sessions.
