Health4Her is a weight loss intervention for women and aims to improve the health and wellbeing of participants through education and physical activity in a female exclusive environment. Sessions are free to attend with free fitness equipment provided to participants to use within sessions and to take home for personal use.
Health4Her teaches health literacy, encourages a healthier lifestyle, supports behaviour change, boosts confidence and increases social cohesion. The programme encourages healthy eating as well as weight loss. Sessions include gym sessions, wellness talks and body MOTs.
Gym Sessions: These open gym sessions allow participants to join the session for as long or as little as they like to freely use the gym equipment. Female Fitness Instructors will be on hand to provide help and support with using equipment and to provide advice on exercises and to help create personal programmes.
Wellness Talks: Topics for the wellness talks include (but are not limited to) diet and nutrition, hydration, exercising at home, injury prevention, 5 ways to wellbeing mental health, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, sleep and stress. Wellness packs related to the topics covered at each session will be provided alongside additional resources each week.
Body MOT Health Checks: Body MOT’s which measure weight, fat%, muscle mass, hydration, metabolic age, visceral fat rating, will be available for participants to find out more about their current health status, ask any health-related questions and receive support to help make any lifestyle changes to improve health.
Sessions begin on 29th January and will run every Wednesday and Friday for 8 weeks.
Every Wednesday at 09:00 to 11:00 with a 10-minute wellness talk at 10am.
Every Friday at 09:00 to 10:30 with a 10-minute wellness talk at 10am
